Janhvi Kapoor, during a recent interview, became emotional when discussing her late mother, the iconic actor Sridevi. Visibly moved, Janhvi shared that she refrains from recreating her mother’s dialogues, explaining that Sridevi did not enjoy watching her own films while she was alive. After her mother’s passing, Janhvi found it challenging to objectively study Sridevi’s work, a practice common among actors today.

As Janhvi prepares for her debut in South Indian cinema with Jr NTRin Koratala Siva’s NTR30, she revealed at the recent AajTak Agenda that she has now come to terms with her mother’s passing and is ready to objectively study Sridevi’s work.Janhvi has started watching her mother’s old films but has never attempted to recite any of her dialogues before.
Addressing the scrutiny she faces as a Bollywood star and being the daughter of one of India’s greatest female stars, Janhvi acknowledged the two sides of the coin. She expressed empathy for non-star kids and outsiders who face different and more relatable struggles to secure opportunities in the industry. Despite the unique challenges she may face, Janhvi emphasized her gratitude for the opportunities she has received, stating that she no longer feels the added pressure.

Having debuted in 2018 with “Dhadak,” it has been five years since Janhvi entered the acting scene. Following her role in “Bawaal” alongside Varun Dhawan, she is set to appear in upcoming projects such as “Mr. and Mrs. Mahi,” “Devara,” and “Ulajh.”
