Taapsee Pannu’s production Dhak Dhak to have a sequel, Sanjana Sanghi confirms news: see inside | Hindi Movie News – Times of India

Taapsee Pannu is one of the finest actors in the business having pushed the boundaries of her craft. And with the same passion, she is pushing the boundaries as a producer as well. This can be seen from her latest production Dhak Dhak which revolved around four women (Ratna Pathak Shah, Dia Mirza, Sanjana Sanghi and Fatima Sana Shaikh) who are at different stages of their lives, taking a bike ride to Khardung La – the highest motorable road in India. The film had a limited theatrical release, but has been topping the charts post its release on OTT.

Talking about its limited theatrical run, Taapsee’s partner Pranjal Khandhdhiya had said, “Sadly filmmaking is not just about making the film, it also includes putting the film out there, making enough noise, getting the right window, reaching out to the right audience and that is where the challenges has increased many folds for a ‘not a star powered’ film. And in reality, it is makers like us who need to be making more noise as we need it more, but the commerce doesn’t allow that because there is no much return on investment. But the beauty of cinema is that we don’t give up on it and we continue making it and eventually we find an audience, be it on TV or on OTT.” And now news is coming that the film will have a sequel!
Taking to Instagram, Sanjana has confirmed the news of its sequel, she wrote , “ SPECIAL NEWS : The #DhakDhakSequel ❤️My darling Manjari, she has a curious heart, eyes brimming with hope, and love for the world.
She doesn’t mistake liberation as rebellion,
She revels in her innocence with a belief that the world is equally so.
She’s content in her protected world in Mathura, but eager to experience the world.
She’s the best friend everyone wants in their life.
Solid. Supportive. Objective.
Elated to share with you gang’s journey doesn’t end in #KharduaLa – because we are bringing to you the SEQUEL ❤️🎉”
