The iconic ‘Munnabhai MBBS‘ starring Sanjay Dutt, Arshad Warsi, Boman Irani, Sunil Dutt, Gracy Singh, Jimmy Shergill among others turns 20 today. As the film completes two decades, it continues to remain in the hearts of the audience. It’s also one of those rare movies whose second installment was just as good as the first one. ‘Lage Raho Munnabhai‘ was equally popular.
As this Rajkumar Hirani 2003 release celebrates its 20th anniversary today, lead actor Sanjay Dutt penned a note of gratitude. Dutt is largely known as Munnabhai which is one of his most memorable characters. Getting nostalgic about the movie, Dutt wrote, “Two decades of laughter, emotions, and a whole lot of jadoo ki jhappi! Celebrating 20 years of Munna Bhai MBBS, a journey filled with unforgettable moments. Grateful for the love and support that made this film a timeless classic. Hoping that Munna Bhai 3 will be made soon!”

‘Jhadoo Ki Jhappi’ is a term which was coined for a hug and since then, it has become a huge part of the popular culture. In his post, Dutt expressed the desire for a third part to be made soon and I’m sure fans are also waiting for it with bated breath.
Arshad Warsi also expressed gratitude about the film on social media. He shared a still from the film with Arshad and wrote, “20 years, wow, seems like yesterday… I thank you all for loving Munna & Circuit so much 🙏.”
The second installment of the Munnabhai franchise was made in 2006. It starred Vidya Balan opposite Sanjay. While Arshad reprised his role as Circuit, Boman was seen in an all-new character. The film also starred Dia Mirza and had Abhishek Bachchan in a cameo.
