
Veteran star Boman Irani, well-known for his movies like ‘Munna Bhai MBBS’ and ‘3 Idiots’, recently opened up about his struggles he faced at every step of life, even after becoming a successful actor.
In the latest podcast for Jist, BomanIrani revealed that he didn’t have a house in his name till he was 47. He further added that there was a time when his building had to be repaired because he could see the sky from his bed.According to him, life can be cruel, childhood can be cruel. Some people get it easy. Butsuccess is tastier when it comes hard. Boman also talked about his days of being a middle-class shopkeeper and smelling of ‘ghee’ always.
The actor went on to say that he is still struggling for his art, his craft. He added that he went from door to door facing rejections because he wanted to do something unique. So, he has a sense of rejection also. He expressed that he has a certain stature today, but it doesn’t mean that people will tell him, ‘You write anything, we will make it.’ There is rejection even today.
Sharing his experience of being a middle-class shopkeeper, the actor recalled that he was a shopkeeper for 14 years and he used to smell of ‘ghee’ and potatoes. He felt odd about it. He also revealed that his wife used to tell him to wear it like a badge of honour, ‘It is ok if your body smells of ghee’, he added.
