Janhvi Kapoor revealed that she started to stand up for herself after years of not having enough courage to speak. In an interview with Film Companion, the actress said that she didn’t say anything when morphed pictures of her were circulated online when she was just a teenager.
Janhvi also praised Rashmika Mandanna, who condemned a viral deepfake of herself on social media and said that she is a little conscious. But she has been a little apologetic about where she comes from because there are bigger and tougher things that people have to deal with.
The actress added that everything that she has dealt with in life, she has looked at as ‘It doesn’t matter; look at what people go through’. And Janhvi thinks she invalidated a lot of her feelings, and that resulted in her not having a voice to express what she wanted and what she didn’t want. Janhvi expressed that she didn’t want to seem imposing. The actress didn’t even know that she had the right to speak about fake or altered images. She didn’t know she could say anything. Therefore, the ‘Dhakak’ actress applauded Rashmika for standing up. Kapoor said that she thought she couldn’t complain because it seemed like she wanted attention.
Janhvi is currently busy shooting for her debut Telugu movie, ‘Devara‘, and will soon be seen in the sports drama ‘Mr and Mrs Mahi’.
