The 2023 spy drama earned an estimated Rs 466 crore at the global box office. With just an estimated 15 crore difference between the two films and weeks to go before it box office of theatres, the SRK film is expected to sail past Salman’s movie in the days ahead.
Despite a mixed response from the audience and a box office clash with Prabhas’ action-packed ‘Salaar‘, ‘Dunki’ has carved a niche as the first comedy drama in the post-pandemic era to achieve such substantial box office figures.
Both ‘Dunki’ and ‘Tiger 3’ were initially anticipated to be box office hits, but both films fell short of expectations at the ticket windows. Notably, ‘Tiger 3’ incurred a production cost of Rs 300 crore, while ‘Dunki’ managed to achieve its success with a significantly lower budget.
The film features a star-studded cast including Taapsee Pannu, Boman Irani, and Vicky Kaushal in pivotal roles. ‘Dunki’, follows the success of SRK’s ‘Pathaan’ and ‘Jawan’, which collectively earned a global total exceeding Rs 2200 crore.
His upcoming project includes an extended appearance with his daughter Suhana Khan in the action thriller, ‘The King’.
