Yes! You read it right! In an interview with The Free Press Journal, Sriram Raghavan revealed that several years ago, he narrated the basic idea of the film to Varun Dhawan, with whom he worked on ‘Badlapur’.
Elaborating further, the filmmaker added that Varun was too busy back then, and he cast him in ‘Ekkees‘. He started looking out for other actors. The filmmaker mentioned that he didn’t want to repeat actors specifically for ‘Merry Christmas’.
Recently, the makers hosted a special screening, and it was a star-studded affair with the presence of various celebrities. The attendees included Vijay Sethupathi, Sriram Raghavan, Ananya Panday, Aditya Roy Kapur, Rajkumar Hirani, Mrunal Thakur, Khushi Kapoor, Vedang Raina, and Divya Dutta, among others.
