Shahid Kapoor, whose latest movie ‘Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya‘ has hit theatres, recently expressed his views on acting. He mentioned that there are many actors who prefer to maintain a consistent look in every film they do. Unlike those, Shahid enjoys changing his appearance for different roles.
In a conversation with Siddharth Kannan, Shahid shared that, as an actor, he is there to take on whatever the role demands of him.He further said that there are a few actors who love themselves a little too much, and no matter what character they play, they like to look the same, and he is not one of them. Shahid said that he likes to change it up. With Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, Shahid has returned to the romantic-comedy genre after a long gap. Shahid’s last few releases, ‘Bloody Daddy’, ‘Jersey’, and ‘Kabir Singh’, saw him attempt different kinds of roles after establishing himself as a romantic lead early in his career.
The actor went on to explain that he wasn’t in the industry to serve his face but rather to work on different scripts and mould himself to suit their demands. Shahid Kapoor hadn’t seen a theatrical hit since ‘Kabir Singh’ in 2019, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, which remained the big hit of his career.
In the same conversation, Shahid was questioned about the three actors he would invite to a house party, and immediately he first mentioned Kriti Sanon, who was beside him. He then included his ‘Kabir Singh’ co-star, Kiara Advani.
Later, pondering the third name, he paused, admitting, “I actually don’t have that many friends like that.” Despite this, when the host suggested he could name any actor, regardless of their personal relationship, Shahid responded, “All of them are nice; I can call anyone.”
On the work front, Shahid Kapoor’s upcoming film, ‘Deva,’ featuring Pooja Hegde, is scheduled for release in October 2024.
