The period drama is based on the books by Julia Quinn, with each focusing on a sibling of the Bridgerton family. The third season of the show skips the third book in Quinn’s series about Benedict Bridgerton to focus on Colin and Penelope, who are already well-known to fans who lovingly call them ‘Polin’.
The makers shared a new 2-minute dialogue promo at the show’s special event on Wednesday and captioned it as, “Certainly Miss Featherington has grown fatigued by the misleading actions of Colin Bridgerton… It would seem that this wallflower is done being trampled.”

The clip took social media by storm with ‘Polin’ fans cheering for Penelope. Unlike the other characters of the show, the Penelope and Colin romance has been building up for two seasons. Fans took to Twitter to share their honest thoughts and excitement about the series. One fan said, “I’m living for this. YES Penelope drag him and I can’t wait for him to gravel at her feet and beg for forgiveness. I think this is gonna be a good season.”

Meanwhile, on the red carpet, Nicola and Luke teased fans about what they can expect in the upcoming season. Not holding back on the details of the steamy scenes in the series, Luke said, “It’s like a really sexy season. Not just for just for us, but everyone. It’s almost like everyone’s been struck by the love potion. Everyone’s at it.”
“They’re feeling the love,” Nicola said, breaking into a laugh.
“This time we know the people falling in love, we’re already rooting for them,” executive producer Shonda Rhimes told a question-and-answer panel in London, where a scene of the new series was shared.
“Bridgerton” became a global phenomenon when it was released in 2020 and won praise for its diverse cast.
The new season sees fan favourites Adjoa Andoh and Golda Rosheuvel reprise their roles as Lady Danbury and Queen Charlotte respectively. Since season two of “Bridgerton” aired, the latter character has had her own spin-off origins story.
“It’s a great support for the characters now going forwards, the fans have caught up,” Rosheuvel told Reuters of the spin-off.
‘Bridgerton’ season 3, which is made up of eight episodes, will launch in two parts, the first being released on May 16 and the second on June 13.
