Sunny Deol and Rajkumar Santoshi, known for their collaborations in films like Ghayal, Damini, Ghatak, and Bhagat Singh, are set to reunite for the highly anticipated Lahore: 1947. The film, produced by Aamir Khan Productions, is a partition drama based on the renowned play Jis Lahore Nai Dekhya O Jamyai Nai by Asghar Wajahat. It features a strong ensemble cast including Sunny Deol, Shabana Azmi, Preity Zinta, and Mona Singh.
As per a report by Pinkvilla, it is being suggested that director Rajkumar Santoshi has chosen Abhimanyu Singh to portray the antagonist in Lahore: 1947.Known for his strong antagonists, Santoshi aims to revive the classic hero vs. villain dynamic in the film. After considering various actors, he has finalized Abhimanyu Singh for the role, which involves a significant clash with Sunny Deol’s character throughout the story.
The report also suggests that Abhimanyu Singh will be joining Sunny Deol and the rest of the team on the sets of Lahore: 1947 soon. The partition drama began filming on February 12 in Mumbai, and the production will have multiple schedules until May 2024. Currently, the makers have recreated 1940s Lucknow at Madh Island for the film.This will be Sunny’s first film post the success of Gadar 2.
