The downward spiral of Fighter continues in the fourth week as well , the film, on two consecutive days failed to collect even Rs 1 crore at the box office. As per the latest numbers by Sacnilk, the film on fourth Monday and fourth Tuesday, ended up collecting Rs 70 lakhs respectively, thus taking the total collection of the film to Rs 207.70 crore.
The film carried a lot of expectations as both Siddharth Anand and Hrithik Roshan were coming back for the third time after War and Bang Bang. Also the global success of Tom Cruise’s Top Gun Maverick must have also excited the team about the prospects of the same. But the film failed to find a connection with the audience. In the first week, the film showed promise, as it clocked in Rs 146.5 crore, but since then the collection had dropped with only weekends showing a small spike and this trend has continued even in the fourth weekend.
Decoding the dry run of the film, Trade Analyst Girish Wankhede said , “Fighter created a space of very snobbish and elite film and that was something that didn’t go very well with the interior of the country. The Tier 2 and Tier 3 couldn’t understand and compliment the high octane aerial action and somewhere the emotional quotient was missing and that is a big thing for any film to work anywhere.”
