Aishwarya Rai Bachchan: Sona Mohapatra slams Rahul Gandhi for ‘demeaning’ comments on 0, schools a user trolling the actress | – Times of India

A few days ago Rahul Gandhi had mentioned Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in his speech saying that at the Ram Mandir pran pratishtha, one did not see any OBC or ST/SC faces. He further said that ‘Aishwarya Rai would be dancing’ while Amitabh Bachchan will do ‘Balle Balle’. He has mentioned Aishwarya in his speech several times and singer Sona Mohapatra has slammed Rahul for his comments calling them ‘demeaning’.
Sona took to X and she said, “What’s with politicians demeaning women in their speeches to get some brownie points in a sexist landscape? Dear #RahulGandhi, sure someone has demeaned your own mother, sister similarly in the past & irrespective you ought to know better? Also, #AishwaryaRai dances beautifully.🙏🏾”

A user responded to Sona’s tweet and trolled Aishwarya. The singer gave a befitting reply to the troll. The troll said, “Dancing like a courtesan is beautiful??? Thank God she didn’t try to attempt Odissi else those horrible body bends in Umrao Jaan speaks a lot about so called dance. Even Vidya Balan didn’t dare portray Odissi as a court dance. She just essayed the role of an Odissi Dancer.” Mohapatra slammed the troll saying, “Dancing like a courtesan” is indeed a compliment you Foolish illiterate Putra. From Amrapali, Barani, Purasati to even Umrao Jaan, the courtesans of Indian history were treasure troves & revered for their art, artistry & command over languages & poetry, performing arts. 🧚🏿‍♀️🔴”

Someone also trolled Sona by saying ‘let see how many people agree to her.” The singer hit back and responded, “I don’t need a single person to agree with me to be confident about my opinion that there is no need to malign, shame, call anyone a ‘dancer’ in a demeaning way in a political speech and that ought to burn you up even more? Love tradition? Worship the Goddess? Respect women? Start.”
