“Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya,” starring Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon, debuted as the year’s third major release, following Katrina Kaif’s “Merry Christmas” and Hrithik Roshan‘s “Fighter.” Following the success of “Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani” in the previous year, it became the first love story of the year on the big screen. The film was eagerly awaited, featuring fantastic music and dance sequences, along with the actors’ strong chemistry and a captivating love story.Now, the movie has become the third biggest hit of Shahid’s career, after Padmaavat and Kabir Singh.
While the film managed to collect Rs 44.35 crore in the first week, in its second week, the film earned Rs 21.65 crore, taking its two week total to Rs 66 crore. The film was expected to cross Rs 70 crore by the end of its third weekend, but it managed to achieve the feat on Saturday itself, and by adding the Sunday collection, the film is nearing Rs 75 crores, while it is expected to cross the Rs 80 crore mark by the end of fourth weekend.
As per Sacnilk, the film on Sunday collected Rs 2.65 crore , while on Saturday it added Rs 2.35 crore, and on Friday it earned Rs 2.50 crore, thus taking the total collection of the film to Rs 73.55 crore as per industry tracker Sacnilk. The film has gone on to become one if the biggest success of Dinesh Vijan’s production house after names like Stree, Bhediya, Zara Hatke Zara Bachke and Luka Chuppi.
The film is currently facing major competition from Yami Gautam starrer “Article 370”, which is currently enjoying a strong momentum at the box office and has minted around Rs 22.80 crore over the weekend.
