On Tuesday, the film raked in approximately Rs 3.25 crore, maintaining a steady performance at the box office. With this latest addition, its total collection now stands at an estimated Rs 30 crore nett. According to sacnilk.com, the film recorded these numbers after scoring an impressive Rs 23 crore opening weekend.
The film had an overall 13.06% Hindi Occupancy on Tuesday. It recorded the highest occupancy for its night shows with a total of 20.33% occupancy.Directed by National Award-winner Aditya Suhas Jambhale, the film presents a gripping narrative set against the backdrop of Jammu and Kashmir. It delves into the pivotal revocation of Article 370 by the Union Government on August 5, 2019, which granted special status to the region.
Yami, portraying the role of intelligence officer Zooni Haksar, leads the stellar cast, which includes Priyamani, Arun Govil, and Kiran Karmarkar in key roles.
Reflecting on the film’s success, the actress expressed her gratitude to the audiences, particularly noting the positive feedback emphasizing the film’s lack of propaganda and its relevance for the youth.
“We had full faith in the film striking the right chord and finding favour with the audience. A common refrain in the congratulatory messages that I have been receiving since our film hit theatres is that the youth should watch it as there’s no propaganda in it,” Gautam said.
Producer Aditya Dhar, also Yami Gautam’s husband, shared his astonishment at the film’s reception, highlighting its portrayal of real-life individuals and their efforts towards the abrogation of Article 370. He said, “Our film had characters based on real-life people, who worked tirelessly for the abrogation of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir. The idea was to narrate their struggles in real life and bring it to viewers through the audio-visual medium. However, we never imagined our film getting such a response and receiving somuch love from viewers.”
