The second season of the ‘Game of Thrones‘ spinoff series, ‘House of the Dragon‘, is set for its highly anticipated return to screens this June!
The makers of the hit series announced that the second season will arrive on HBO in June 2024, however, no release date was announced. Studio boss J.B. Perrette made the announcement during an interview at Morgan Stanley’s conference on Monday.This announcement marks the most significant revelation regarding the release window after HBO chief Casey Bloys had hinted at an “early summer” release.
With the series set for a June release, it will face off against three other major series like the Emmy Award-winning ‘The Bear’ Season 3, ‘The Boys’ Season 4, and ‘Star Wars: The Acolyte’.When season 1 debuted, it clashed with Prime Videos’ ‘Lord Of The Rings: The Rings Of Power’.
The upcoming season will see the return of familiar faces, including Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Emma D’Arcy, Eve Best, Steve Toussaint, Fabien Frankel, Ewan Mitchell, Tom Glynn-Carney, Sonoya Mizuno, Rhys Ifans, Harry Collett, Bethany Antonia, Phoebe Campbell, Phia Saban, Jefferson Hall, and Matthew Needham. Additionally, new cast members joining the ensemble include Abubakar Salim as Alyn of Hull, Gayle Rankin as Alys Rivers, Freddie Fox as Ser Gwayne Hightower, and Simon Russell Beale as Ser Simon Strong.

Production for ‘HOTD’ Season 2 commenced on April 11, 2023. Notably, while other web series hit a roadblock with the Hollywood strikes, filming for the second season remained unaffected as the scripts were completed before filming began.
