Dune 2, one of the most anticipated films of the year based on Frank Herbert 1965 book called Dune, had a strong Monday in India. The film, which minted about Rs 11.30 crore over the weekend, added Rs 1.40 crore, as per Sacnilk, into its kitty on Monday.
The Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya‘s starrer released on Friday, 1st March, but it had paid previews on Thursday, through which it minted about Rs 70 lakhs.On Friday, the film opened to Rs 2.75 crore of which Rs 25 lakhs came from Hindi. On Saturday the film saw a near 38% jump to collect Rs 3.8 crore of which Rs 45 lakhs came from Hindi. And on Sunday, it jumped by another 5 % to collect Rs 4.05 crore of which Rs 55 lakhs came from Hindi. The current total of the film stands at Rs 12.70 crore.
Besides Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya, the film also features Rebecca Ferguson, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgard, Dave Bautista, Charlotte Rampling, and Javier Bardem, along with Austin Butler, Florence Pugh, Christopher Walken, Lea Seydoux, and Souheila Yacoub.
The film follows the journey of Paul Atreides played by Chalamet, as he joins forces with the Fremen led by Javier Bardem, the desert inhabitants of the planet Arrakis, to launch a campaign against House Harkonnen.The film has gone to take the biggest opening opening of 2024 across the globe with US and Canada leading from the front.
