The makers of Ajay Devgn starrer ‘Maidaan’ unveiled the much-awaited trailer of the film and it has been receiving positive reviews from all sides. Producer Boney Kapoor opened up about the delay the film faced owing to various reasons.
Expressing his joy over the long-awaited release of ‘Maidaan’ in theaters after a five-year delay, Boney mentioned the challenges they faced during the pandemic. He noted that their sets in Madh stood for around three and a half years during the lockdown. Boney highlighted the difficulties of coordinating shoots with players and technicians from around the world due to the intermittent lockdowns, which occurred three times during their filming process.

The creators of ‘Maidaan’ also faced setbacks when the film’s sets were damaged during the Mumbai cyclone in 2019. Boney expressed relief that despite this adversity, the technicians didn’t lose patience and committed to completing the film.

Maidaan – Official Trailer

Amit Sharma, the director of Maidaan, described the delay as frustrating. He expressed that the anticipation and preparation for shooting followed by its non-occurrence naturally led to frustration. However, he emphasized that once shooting commenced, they found enjoyment in the process, ultimately completing the film.
As Maidaan makes its long-awaited debut on the big screen, the excitement among the makers is palpable. However, it will encounter competition from Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff’s Bade Miyan Chhote Miyan, both set to release on April 10.

Ajay Devgn mentioned that he doesn’t see the two films releasing on the same date as a clash. According to him, labeling it as a clash implies that two films shouldn’t release on the same day, but there are occasions when it’s unavoidable. He emphasized that both films belong to different genres and that they consider themselves as part of a family, not rivals. Instead of viewing it as a clash, they see it as a big weekend where both films will perform well.
