Kiran Rao‘s latest offering, ‘Laapataa Ladies‘ is enjoying a slow run at the box office. The film enjoyed positive word of mouth publicity over the weekend and collected nearly Rs 4 crore, but when it came to the weekday collection, the film wrapped up at just Rs 6.03 crore.
‘Laapataa Ladies’ stars new talents like Nitanshi Goel, Pratibha Ranta, Sparsh Shrivastava, and experienced names like Chhaya Kadam and Ravi Kishan.The film opened to a very underwhelming number of just Rs 75 lakhs but as the word spread, on Saturday the film saw a near 93 percent jump in its collection and earned Rs 1.45 crore and on Sunday, it jumped by another 24 percent to collect Rs 1.70 crore, thus taking the first weekend total to Rs 3.9 crore. The film saw a drop on Monday and earned just Rs 50 lakhs but then onwards, ‘Laapataa Ladies’ collected Rs 50 lakhs throughout the week. Laapataa Ladies earned Rs Rs 55 lakh on Tuesday, Rs 53 lakh on Wednesday and Rs 55 lakh on Thursday, as per early estimates by industry tracker Sacnilk. The total collection of the film now stands at about Rs 6.03 crore.
