On March 11, the Home Ministry notified the implementation of the Citizenship Amendment Act‘s (CAA) rule and Kangana Ranaut has welcomed the move.
The ‘Tejas’ actress took to Instagram Stories to share a picture of Prime Minister Narendra Modi alongside Home Minister Amit Shah. She wrote ‘CAA’ with emojis of the Indian flag to show her support for CAA notification.
Kangana also posted an old video from 2014 of PM Modi speaking about the idea behind CAA. Along with it, she wrote, “Before you form an opinion or emotion about CAA, first understand what it stands for.”
CAA Notification:
The law paves the way for Hindu, Sikh, Jain, Buddhist, Christian, and Parsi refugees who came to India before December 31, 2014, from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Pakistan to acquire Indian citizenship without having a valid passport of these countries or an Indian visa.
Moreover. the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill 2019 was passed in Parliament in December 2019. The Lok Sabha passed the Bill on December 9 while the Rajya Sabha passed it on December 11.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Kangana will be seen in the upcoming period drama film ‘Emergency’ which also marks her first solo directorial. She will also be seen with R. Madhavan in a psychological thriller film, which will be helmed by Vijay.
