Kiara Advani and Sidharth Malhotra, who got married on February 07, 2023, made everyone fall in love with their dreamy wedding pictures. During the 8th season of one of the loved celebrity chat shows ‘Koffee With Karan’, Kiara revealed how Sidharth proposed to her in Rome and it was simply adorable. Kiara, who was a guest on Karan Johar’s show along with Vicky Kaushal, opened up about how she had this feeling about Sidharth proposing to her, however she didn’t have a clue about when it would happen.
Kiara shared that when Sidharth was on Koffee with Karan with Vicky Kaushal last season, they had just returned from the trip where he proposed to her. Kiara said that they were on a family holiday with Sid’s parents, but her parents couldn’t join them as her mother had Covid. After Kiara and Sidharth had discussed that they wanted to be with each other for the rest of their lives, she told him to seek permission from her parents first.
Kiara revealed that Sidharth had recently returned from the trip where he had proposed to her when he appeared with Vicky Kaushal on Koffee with Karan last season. Kiara stated that although Sid’s parents were traveling with them, her parents were unable to accompany them due to her mother’s COVID-19 diagnosis. Kiara instructed Sidharth to ask her parents for permission before proposing to her after they had discussed that they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together.
“I told him all this is fine but you have to speak to my parents. You first ask them, take their permission. Let’s do it the right way. They’ll be happy,” she recalled.
She said that on the very first day of their trip, Sidharth took her to a Michelin star restaurant in Rome where he surprised her with the proposal. “He planned the works. He had done this candlelight dinner. We go back after dinner, and he takes me up for a walk. We go up and suddenly the violinist comes out of the bushes playing and sweetly his little nephew is taking our video from behind the bushes. He then goes on one knee and proposes. I was not expecting it that night so I was so overwhelmed, I didn’t say anything,” she said.
Since Kiara wasn’t able to utter a word, Sidharth started saying lines from his proposal scene in ‘Shershaah’. “After his whole speech, he doesn’t know what to say to me and he starts saying the lines of Shershaah. He’s like ‘Dilli ka seedha sada launda hun’, and what he said to me in the movie, the full dialogue of Shershaah. Then I burst out laughing,” she recalled. Kiara said that since his family was there, they got a chance to celebrate with them which she described as the “best part.” Post this, the duo video-called Kiara’s parents and Karan Johar. When the filmmaker questioned him if she selected the ring, she laughed and said that she gave him hints.
