Naseeruddin Shah feels Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Aamir Khan avoid socio-political issues as they fear the harassment they face – Times of India

Naseeruddin Shah recently opened up about the religious prejudice within the industry and why the Khans of Bollywood refrain from speaking about it.

Talking to a news portal, the veteran actor reportedly said that superstars like Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Aamir Khan do not speak on the matters because they are worried about the harassment they face after that. According to Shah, they have so much to lose. It is a question of their entire establishment getting harassed.

Elaborating further, Naseeruddin also pointed out the fact that the Muslim community’s contribution has been significant. He added that the three Khans are still at the very top, unchallenged and still delivering. The ace actor also went on to say that he has never faced any discrimination. He also revealed that early in his career, he was advised to change his name. However, he kept it. He still doesn’t know how that would have made any difference.

Naseeruddin Shah had received backlash on social media after he shared a video on the Taliban in Afghanistan. The actor in his video had called out Indian Muslims for “celebrating” the Taliban’s control in Afghanistan instead of condemning the same. He said, “Even as the Taliban’s return to power in Afghanistan is a cause for concern for the whole world, celebrations of the barbarians by some sections of Indian Muslims are no less dangerous.” The veteran star later clarified that the use of the word ‘celebration’ may not have been the best.
