The Brit rockers unite with the South Korean superstars using holograms in the video set in a dystopian future where music is banned. The video opens with the words, “Once upon a time, many years from now… music is forbidden across spheres.”
It goes on to read, “On three different planets, three different bands defy the ban. DJ Lafrique, on her alien radio ship, unites them via holoband. All the while they are hunted by their silencers.”
The music video comes just a week after the release of the lyrical video that dropped on Friday. This new single is said to be a love song from the artists to their fans. It will be a part of the Chris Martin-fronted band’s album ‘Music Of The Spheres’.
The track is already a hit among fans who have been singing along to the catchy chorus, “You, you are my universe and I just want to put you first. And you, you are my universe, and you make my world light up inside…”
The song also features BTS joining in with Korean lyrics.
While the two bands meet up with holograms in the music video, fans were pleased to know that they met in person to record the track and also met up last week while BTS was in the USA to attend the UN General Assembly.
BTS — comprising RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, and Jungkook -also recently sat down with Chris for a YouTube special, ahead of the premiere of ‘BTS ‘Permission to Dance’ MV (Shorts Challenge version)’.
The K-Pop band gave fans a reason to cheer this Tuesday when they announced their first LIVE concert in two years. The band will be heading to LA in November and December for a special 4-day gig. This will be their first LIVE show since the pandemic.
