Coldplay X BTS release ‘My Universe’: Hidden messages to Hobi flirting with an alien, ARMY break down futuristic music video – Times of India

Coldplay and BTS have dropped the official music video of their collaborative track ‘My Universe‘ and it was in every sense, ‘out of this world’.

The British rockers and the K-Pop superstars gave fans a ticket out of reality with this futuristic video that features the boy bands from different plants uniting through holograms and jamming with aliens and robots.

According to reports, Chris Martin and director Dave Meyers’ vision for the music video was a science fiction story set in a time of isolation, where only music can unifying them. Putting the message out, the boys added a little note that read, “Once upon a time, many years from now… music is forbidden across spheres. On three different planets, three different bands defy the ban. DJ Lafrique, on her alien radio ship, unites them via holoband. All the while they are hunted by their silencers.”

Since the launch of the music video, ARMY and Coldplay fans took to social media to decode the meaning of the video. Whether it was the band’s message about rebelling against oppressors, or the coronavirus inspired enemy ship, or even the aliens and the values they represent, fans posted it all on social media.

Taking to Twitter, a fan wrote, “The message behind the music video is so wonderful. Music transcends absolutely everything. Music is too powerful that nothing can stop it to bring people closer together, not the silencers, not even the pandemic.”

“So that enemy ship design was inspired by coronavirus…” another said while sharing a snippet of designer Francois Audouy.

“Her name is Angel Moon, and she’s an angelic, luminescent alien, glows with purity and kindness,” a fan posted about the alien featured in the clip.

Besides the moving messages, ARMY also took note of Hobi serenading an alien with song and giving her his undivided attention.

“WHERE DO I SIGN UP TO BE THESE HOT ALIEN WOMEN?????? ILL PAY,” wrote a fan in a tweet.

Another added, “Can’t believe J-hope flirting with the alien.”

Another quipped, “In THE MV HOBI & JUNGKOOK flirting with hot ALIEN GIRLS (now we all wanna be that ALIEN girl).”

The music video comes just a week after the release of the lyrical video that dropped on Friday. This new single is said to be a love song from the artists to their fans. It will be a part of the Chris Martin-fronted band’s album ‘Music Of The Spheres’.
