Gandhi Jayanti 2021! Shilpa Shetty, Jacqueline Fernandez and Sidharth Malhotra, celebs pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on his birth anniversary – Times of India

It is the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi today. Several Bollywood celebrities have taken to their social media handles to pay tribute to the ‘Father of our Nation’.Born as Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi on October 2, 1869, he is fondly referred to as ‘Bapu’.

Sunny Deol tweeted, ”Salute to the man who fought against hatred and oppression with love. #GandhiJayanti”.

Kunal Kemmu wrote, ”May we imbibe his principles of Truth and Non-violence within us as an individual and a nation. Happy #GandhiJayanti #FatherOfTheNation”.

Hema Malini wrote on Twitter, ”Gandhi Jayanti – a day for introspection and a resolution to follow the Mahatma’s ideals of non-violence and truth. Remembering this great soul on Gandhi Jayanti 2021 “I am prepared to die, but there is no cause for which I am prepared to kill.” – Mahatma Gandhi”.

On Gandhi Jayanti, Jacqueline Fernandez spoke about Swachh Bharat Abhiyan turning 4. She captioned the post as, ”2nd October, a date which is etched in millions of hearts as it’s the birth anniversary of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi. Today, it’s even more special because the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan turns 4. A clean city is the best gift we could give ourselves and other citizens. To do my bit on this day, I along with @jlyolofoundation and @kalambemalhar from @beachpleaseindia decided to visit the Mithi river bank to understand how we could also contribute. @beachpleaseindia has been working relentlessly to keep our city clean. They regularly conduct beach clean ups which we all can volunteer in!! Let’s all pledge together to save this beautiful city, country and planet
