Has Abhishek Bachchan signed up to play a cricketer in R Balki’s next? – Times of India

R Balki recently announced a psychological thriller ‘Chup’ starring Sunny Deol, Dulquer Salmaan, Shreya Dhanwanthary and Pooja Bhatt in lead. And while he begins work on the same, the filmmaker is already in talks with Abhishek Bachchan for another entertainer. According to Pinkvilla, R Balki has discussed a cricket-based movie with Abhishek Bachchan. Jr Bachchan will reportedly essay the lead role of a left-handed batsman in this movie. Abhishek will reportedly start shooting for this yet-untitled movie from next year, after wrapping the third season of ‘Breathe’.

Currently, R Balki is busy with ‘Chup’ which marks his debut in the genre of thrillers. The film is written by R Balki and is based on the story he started working on a few years ago. The screenplay and dialogues have been co-written by R Balki, critic-turned-writer Raja Sen and Rishi Virmani. Speaking about the movie, R Balki had said in a statement, “Chup is an ode to the sensitive artist, and Guru Dutt is right on top of that list. I have had the story for a long time and I am glad we finally wrote it and are almost done filming it.”

R Balki had received much praise for his directorial ‘Ki & Ka’ and the filmmaker had hinted at a possibility of a sequel to the powerful entertainer. Speaking to Bombay Times, the filmmaker had shared, “Bebo, Arjun, and I had a great time working together. In fact, we have spoken about working together again many, many times after that. As for sequels, I have never made a sequel for any of my films before, for numerous reasons. Come to think of it, when we first made Ki & Ka, we had to explain a lot of things in detail. Today, if I was to make a sequel, it would be simpler to handle, with fewer explanations to offer about the way things are because things have really changed a lot around us. Having said that, I don’t have thoughts about making a sequel. Only when Bebo and Arjun were talking to me yesterday did it strike me that there could really be a sequel here. Let’s see! If an idea comes up then, maybe…we will think of it.”
