
In an interview with a news portal, the director opened up about getting Fardeen on board for the film. He revealed that Riteish was the first choice for one of the lead roles in the movie. While he, along with his team, was looking to cast the other lead, the filmmaker met Fardeen and was taken by his transformation. According to Gupta, the actor was hungry to get back on the saddle and had worked immensely hard to lose oodles of weight.
The film is reportedly an official Hindi remake of the Venezuelan film, ‘Rock, Paper, Scissors’ which was the country’s official entry for the Oscars in 2012. The remake rights were up for grabs and the director knew, after watching the drama, that it was the perfect recipe for a slick Bollywood thriller.
It’s reportedly a story of how things can go crazy over a day. The makers plan to shoot it on the streets of the city.
On the work front, Sanjay Gupta’s ‘Mumbai Saga’ released earlier this year in theatres with 50 percent capacity and received mixed reviews from the audience and the critics alike.
