Prithviraj Sukumaran to don the director’s cap and act in a Hindi web series based on India’s ‘Biscuit King’ Rajan Pillai – Times of India

Prithviraj Sukumaran is on a roll. M-Town’s most successful actor-filmmaker-producer is all set to make his mark in the world of web series. Prithviraj Sukumaran has reportedly signed to direct a Hindi web series inspired by the life of Rajan Pillai, India’s ‘Biscuit King’. The ace actor will also be playing the lead role of Rajan Pillai, and the web series will discuss the dramatic tale of the rise and fall of the tycoon.

As per the reports, Saregama’s Yoodle Films have acquired the rights to produce the web series.

Prithviraj Sukumaran ventured into filmmaking back in 2019, with the Malayalam movie ‘Lucifer’ featuring Mohanlal. The film emerged as one of the biggest blockbuster films in Malayalam, and needless to say, quite an achievement for a debutant filmmaker.

Meanwhile, Prithviraj Sukumaran was filming for his next – ‘Kaduva’ helmed by Shaji Kailas. The filming is nearing completion.

On the work front, Prithviraj Sukumaran’s production banner is presenting the Malayalam version of Ranveer Singh’s much-awaited film ‘83’.

“Glad to present the Malayalam adaptation of ‘83’. It is an unbelievable true story of the greatest triumph of the Indian cricket team in 1983. It is a riveting tale that needs to be told and I take pride in presenting one of the most awaited films across India and the rest of the world,” Prithviraj Sukumaran said in a statement.

Based on India’s historic 1983 cricket World Cup victory, ‘83’ is releasing in the cinemas on 24th December 2021, in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam languages.
