Salman Khan announces ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan 2’; here’s what writer K. V. Vijayendra Prasad has to say – Times of India

The grand ‘RRR’ pre-release event held on Sunday was high on entertainment, and Salman Khan‘s announcement about the sequel of ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan‘ grabbed headlines. Although filmmaker Kabir Khan, who helmed the Salman Khan-starrer, revealed that the script is not yet ready, nor has the idea been formed, fans are excited about the film.

When ETimes contacted the writer of Bajrangi Bhaijaan, K. V. Vijayendra Prasad, and probed if he was writing the sequel, he did not wish to give out any information. “I am not at liberty to say anything on Bajrangi Bhaijaan, everything about it will only come from Salman Bhai,” he said.

When told that director Kabir Khan has reportedly said he was unaware of the development, Prasad added, “I really don’t know all that and I am not aware either.”

The story of ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ was written by S. S. Rajamouli’s father, K. V. Vijayendra Prasad. The film was directed by Kabir Khan and also starred Kareena Kapoor Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in pivotal roles. It marked the Bollywood debut of child actor Harshaali Malhotra who played the role of innocent Munni. The film released in theatres on 17 July 2015.

While further developments on ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ sequel are awaited, Salman Khan will soon be seen in a cameo appearance in ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ and ‘Pathan’. He is currently shooting for ‘Tiger 3’ with Katrina Kaif in Delhi. He will also be seen in ‘Aankh Micholi’ in 2022.
