Ram Charan, Jr NTR’s ‘RRR’ not postponed, confirms SS Rajamouli amid rise in COVID-19 cases – Times of India

Amidst a lot of uncertainty over the release of films in Bollywood, director SS Rajamouli has confirmed that his film ‘RRR‘ is on track for its January 7, 2022, release in cinemas. Days after the producers issued a clarification about the film, Rajamouli confirmed that there will be “No postponement” of the film starring Jr NTR, Ram Charan, Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh spread the word on his handle in a tweet that read, “‘RRR’ VERY MUCH ON 7 JAN 2022… SS RAJAMOULI OFFICIAL STATEMENT TO ME… No postponement.”

This news comes after theatres in Delhi were shut down due to the rise in the number of COVID-19 cases in the city.

There was speculation that due to the night curfew and 50% occupancy introduced in many states, that the film might be postponed. However, DVV Danayya spoke to the press and said, “There is no change in the release date. There are many rumours that we might not release the film on the planned date. They are false, RRR is releasing on time.”

‘RRR’ was initially scheduled to release on July 30, 2020, but it was postponed due to production delays owing to the nationwide lockdown.
