As promised, the actor released the first ‘glimpse’ of the film that gave fans a taste of all the action that is set to unfold in theatres in August 2022. “Glimpse. That’s it,” he wrote as he shared the clip on his social media handles.
Producer Karan Johar also added, “This is just the beginning, we’ll see you in cinemas on 25th August 2022!”
Team ‘Liger’ announced on Wednesday that they will treat fans to a first glimpse of the film on New Year’s Eve. As promised, the actor released the teaser that gives us brief glimpses of the action and drama set to unfold. “Introducing the boy from India… The slumdog from the streets of Mumbai… The chaiwala… Liger…” says the commentator while Vijay takes his place in the centre of the ring.
Originally thought to be a film that will chronicle the life of a boxer, it now appears that Vijay will be taking on the role of an MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) fighter.
Going by the teaser, the film will chronicle his rise from a ‘chaiwala’ to a world champion.
Mike Tyson and Ananya Panday, who also plays leading roles in the film, were seemingly left out of the teaser.
Liger also stars Ramya Krishnan, Ronit Roy and Vishu Reddy among others. The film will be released in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam.
