The actor had multiple rounds of auditions to bag the envious part as a newbie. Interestingly, revealing one of the secrets, Dhairya tells BT that he lied during the auditions. He shares, “The thing is that I am quite tall. It has become a joke now. Shakun keeps teasing me even now.I am 6.4 and I thought that might become a problem. I wondered what if they think that I am too tall and send me packing? So, during the auditions I had mentioned that I am 6.2 feet tall.”
He goes on to add, “When I bagged the project I told the team that I am actually 6.3 feet tall. Then finally when the film got shot I was like ab toh yeh kuch nahi kar sakte and finally revealed that I was 6.4 feet tall (laughs). Till date Shakun taunts me saying that I slouching my shoulders to get through the auditions (laughs).”
Talking about his equation with team Gehraiyaan, Dhairya said, “When I met Karan (Johar, Producer) for the project, he gave me the biggest and the warmest hug. He told me you are here, and you are here for a reason. You are good, now just enjoy it. Don’t take any pressure and keep doing what you are doing. His words were very reassuring and comforting. As for Deepika, I was just smitten by her. She is everything you would expect her to be and more. We know of her as this humongous star and a fabulous actor, yet she’s so simple and warm.”
