The Zendaya-led drama hit another series high with its finale episode, drawing 6.6 million viewers. The show not only saw the culmination of Lexi‘s play, but also got a Cassie vs Maddy brawl, Rue and Jules reunion, but most importantly, it also had what may have been the end of the line for Fez and Ashtray‘s story.
Fans balled their eyes out on social media after the shootout scene at Fez and Ashtray’s apartment, which might have left Ash shot in the head by the FBI.
The gripping and emotional scene sees Fez pleading with the cops to stop shooting as his brother “is just a child.”
However, things take a turn when the shooting stops and Ash plays dead, only to wake up and fire a shotgun at an officer, thus killing him on the spot. We then see a laser red dot aimed at the boy travelling up his chest to the centre of his head. The camera turns away from Ashtray to Fez when we hear a shot fired.
Fans pointed out that the scene was parallel to Fez’s first meeting with Ash that was in the hallway of their grandmother’s apartment.

As the series didn’t really give viewers a glimpse of Ashtray’s dead body, reports state it could be possible that he is still alive. The cliffhanger ending that had both brothers on the floor, shot and bleeding in the hallway, has given many reasons to hope that neither of the two died.
Even Javon Walton, the actor who plays Ashtray, said in his interview that he too was not convinced that his character was killed. He even went as far as saying ‘there is hope’ for the character in season 3 that will release after two years.
“Man, I just hope he’s alive,” Walton told Esquire. “Because I’m sure he didn’t just get shot one time by taking cover in the bathtub and getting shot through the wall.”
He went on to talk about what he thinks could happen in season 3, if Ashtray somehow survived. “Ash is definitely going to find a way back to him because that’s the person he cares about most to him. That’s what I would want to happen, is for Ash and Fez to reunite. People love the Ash and Fez duo. The Fesh train!”
‘Euphoria’ is also now the most-tweeted-about show of the decade – so far – in the US with 34 million tweets.
‘Euphoria’ Season 2 centres on the intertwining lives of high schoolers in the town of East Highland, where 17-year-old Rue (Zendaya) must find hope while balancing the pressures of love, loss and addiction. The finale episode saw many of the season’s biggest conflicts come to a head — more than one in a violent fashion.
The series also stars Hunter Schafer, Nika King, Eric Dane, Angus Cloud, Jacob Elordi, Algee Smith, Sydney Sweeney, Alexa Demie, Barbie Ferreira, Maude Apatow, Javon Walton, Dominic Fike, Storm Reid and Austin Abrams.
