As Arindam has said earlier this film is a psychological thriller. Starring Mimi Chakraborty, Arjun Chakrabarty and Susmita Chatterjee in the lead, it tells the story of a couple Urmi and Sagnik who lost their only child after a tragic car accident. Soon after the incident, as she recovers from the trauma Urmi is now haunted by her dead child’s memories and strange visions of violence appear one after another. Urmi is now clueless about what exactly is happening to her. Strange events are also taking place around her. With so many twists and turns, ‘Khela Jawkhon’ promises to be a nail-biting thriller.
The acclaimed director is highly ambitious about this project since this is by far his biggest film till date. “Khela Jawkhon is the largest-scale work for me till date. Considering the budget, this is also by far my biggest one. I have long been trying to make a film like Khela Jawkhon and I have so many expectations from it. I hope the audience will shower love on this psychological thriller. I have tried to make an international standard film handling all those problems we face while making a Bengali film. I can assure Khela Jawkhon will be unique from the rest of the Bengali films as it can reach the audience beyond Bengal,” said Arindam.
Arindam Sil has already proved his mettle at the box office delivering successful Byomkesh films one after another. It will be interesting to see whether the audience now accepts his psychological thriller. The director also has few other films in the pipeline including the next Byomkesh film and Mahananda, the biopic of literary icon Mahasweta Devi.
