“I am overwhelmed to be awarded with the prestigious Filmfare award for the third time. The black lady has again come to me for being the winner in the best actress popular choice category for the film Binisutoy. Thanks to the audience and Filmfare authority for giving me this kind of love and encouragement. My director Atanu Ghosh’s dreamy creation is indeed being celebrated with this achievement. Congratulations to the entire team of ‘Binisutoy’ for also achieving the titles of ‘Best Film and director (Critics’)’ and Best Editing. May the unspoken untouched bond of Binisutoy lingers in our life forever,” shared the versatile actress.
In ‘Binisutoy’, Ahsan is deceptively wicked, shape-shifting as the film turns her into a woman who is wholly human and completely mysterious. She has the capacity to surprise and appear unrehearsed almost throughout the film. The presence of another powerhouse actor Ritwick Chakraborty opposite her never overshadowed Jaya’s sublime act in the film.
Incidentally, not just the Best Actress award but Atanu’s film took home three other awards – Best Film and Best Director in the critics’ choice category and the Best Editing award.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Jaya will next be seen in Suman Mukhopadhyay’s film ‘Putul Nacher Itikotha’ which stars Abir Chatterjee and Parambrata Chattopadhyay alongside her.
