Ranbir Kapoor says ‘Rishi Kapoor enjoyed his alcohol, food and ensured to have at least one meal together with family’ – Times of India


Ranbir Kapoor is currently promoting his late father Rishi Kapoor‘s last film ‘Sharmaji Namkeen’. The actor recently attended the promotional event at a five-star hotel in Mumbai along with the director Hitesh Bhatia and producer Ritesh Sidhwani.

During the interview with a publication, Ranbir was asked if his late father would bring movies and work at the dinner table? Ranbir replied stating that Rishi Kapoor used to express his excitement about his films at home but also had clarity that he has a life beyond movies. The ‘Sanju’ actor further added that Rishi Ji made sure that he never shoots on Sundays and didn’t opt for the night shifts so that he could spend time with family. He enjoyed his alcohol, food and ensured to have at least one meal together with his family. He did that until the time he left for the heavenly abode and not just when Ranbir was a kid.

During the conversation, Ranbir also revealed that his family whenever they meet, they only talk about food. He went on to add that even when they are planning holidays, they will always check out places where there are good restaurants. He was a “Khaata Peeta” insaan.

Meanwhile, In the film, legendary actors — late Rishi Kapoor and Paresh Rawal — play the coming of age story of the retired protagonist.

Paresh Rawal stepped into the late actor’s role as the film’s shooting could not be completed due to Kapoor’s unfortunate demise. The film will premiere on March 31, 2022 on the OTT platform.
