Nupur Sanon: I have faced a lot of rejections and only evolved as a person – Times of India

Hailing from an academically sound family, Nupur Sanon had only one role model to follow which is her sister Kriti Sanon who risked it by venturing out into showbiz. So, when Nupur followed her to Mumbai she had her set of hurdles to face before she made a foray into the on screen world. “Our journey has been different. While Kriti made her debut with a film, (Heropanti), I began with a music video (starring Akshay Kumar),” says Nupur who’s finished shooting for her first Bollywood flick, Noorani Chehra alongside Nawazuddin Siddiqui.

Bagging her first film wasn’t easy as it called for multiple auditions and setbacks in this long journey. She says, “As an actor I feel I was ready a few years ago only. I was trying since then. I had given a lot of auditions. I faced a lot of rejections. Earlier, I would get impatient and frustrated, but now I am in a space where I have evolved as a person.”

These instances only helped Nupur to become a better person. She shares, “I am glad I have given so many auditions. I now know how things work in Bollywood. I think I have improved as an actor. I have been prepping up hard. I have been taking lessons in acting, and even during the lockdown I did acting workshops virtually.”

As she looks back, she signs off saying, “As they say, whatever happens, happens at the right time. I am really happy with my journey.”
