Taaruk Raina on working with Rishi Kapoor in ‘Sharmaji Namkeen’: He’s left us with a piece of gold | Hindi Movie News – Times of India

Actor Taaruk Raina who was last seen in the hit web shows ‘Mismatched’ and ‘Jugaadistan’ will soon be seen sharing screen space with Rishi Kapoor in ‘Sharmaji Namkeen’. In an exclusive conversation with ETimes, the actor spoke about his fond memories with him, his biggest learnings from him and many more.
Mourning his demise, Taaruk said, “He’s left us with a piece of gold. It’s an absolute treasure. He’s just one of a kind. There’s no one like him. Rishi ji is one such person, even if he’s going through something, he wouldn’t let anyone around him know the same either. He’s always smiling”.

When asked about his feelings on receiving the script, Taaruk says, “I was 22 years old, when I got the script. The moment I read I have to portray Rishi Kapoor’s son, I was like, ‘Wow! I’ll be like Ranbir Kapoor — this is my shortcut to fame!’ (Laughs) I was very nervous about the whole thing”.
When asked about his biggest learning from the set, an elated Taaruk shares, “It was a pleasant ride for me. I got to learn so much from Rishi sir and from the entire team. From losing Rishi ji to pandemic to just figuring out how to complete the film, to Paresh Ji being graceful enough to finish the film, it’s been a humbling journey”.

“We used to talk a lot about food. Rishi ji was an absolute foodie. He used to tell us his stories from his shooting days. He even used to scold me at times, but again, 5 mins later, you’ll find us talking about food,” Taaruk shares recollecting his shooting days with him.
On a closing note, the ‘Jugaadistan’ actor shares, “It’s nothing short of a heartbreak. It was a very, very serious blow that we took. He always used to give his 100% on set. He’s full of life, passionate and a fun loving actor. I guess that’s what legends are made of”.
