Shahid Kapoor opens up on the reports of ‘Jersey’ getting postponed to avoid clash with ‘KGF: Chapter 2’ and ‘Beast’ – Times of India


Actor Shahid Kapoor starrer ‘Jersey‘ was all set to release this week alongside Yash‘s ‘KGF: Chapter 2’. But the makers have postponed the release by a week and it will now release on April 22. In his latest interview, Shahid has reacted to the reports suggesting that his film’s release date is changed to avoid a clash with ‘KGF: Chapter 2’ and ‘Beast‘.

On Monday, producer Aman Gill shared in a statement, “As a team, we have put our blood sweat and tears into Jersey and would like our beloved film to reach all of you in the widest possible way. ‘Jersey’ will now release on 22nd April.”

While speaking to India Today, Shahid said that the team has have thought it through and everyone thinks its prudent. He further said that a lot of big films can be released on a holiday and he thinks ‘Beast’ is largely for a different market. He also said that ‘KGF: Chapter 2’ is an action film and ‘Jersey’ is very much a family film. So, the genres are very different.

ETimes got an exclusive update that the makers of ‘Jersey’ have been accused of plagiarism. A writer Rajneesh Jaiswal has filed a case against the makers, alleging that the film’s story/script is his.

‘Jersey’ is directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri that also stars Mrunal Thakur and Pankaj Kapur in key roles.
