‘Gangnam Style’ singer PSY to mark comeback with new song in April – Times of India


South Korean singer PSY who became a global sensation overnight with his captivating track ‘Gangnam Style’, is now back with a fresh track after 5 years!

On Tuesday, he took to his social media handle and confirmed his comeback with a new untitled album which is slated to debut on April 29, at 6 pm KST. Sharing a video from his 2013 concert when he promised to release yet another hit in 2022, he said, “To be honest, I produced ‘Champion’ in 2002, and it took me exactly ten years to produce a song that is more sensational than that. ‘Gangnam Style’ was released in 2012. I guess what I’m trying to say is that perhaps the next time you’ll meet a song like ‘Gangnam Style’ will be in 2022.”

On the work front, PSY hit headlines back in 2014 with his single ‘Gangnam Style’ as it crossed two billion views. Currently, the song is the 11th most viewed video on YouTube with over 4 billion views ever after 8 long years.

After the success of ‘Gangnam Style’, PSY went on to deliver some more popular tracks, such as ‘Gentleman’ and ‘Hangover’.

His last album was ‘PSY 8th 4X2 = 8’ which was released in May 2017.

PSY recently held his first concert in Dubai as part of an event on the Korean national day event.
