‘Beast’ box office collection day 1: Vijay’s film gets a record opening in Tamil Nadu; but Hindi version becomes a dud – Times of India

The last big film to become a massive blockbuster in Tamil Nadu was the 2019 film Viswasam and to date, it has remained the highest-grossing film in Tamil Nadu after ‘Bahubali – The Conclusion’. Now, with the recently released ‘Beast’, the film gets a new record opening with 27 crore net worth of sales, surpassing the figure put up by ‘Valimai’, which had released a month ago.

According to a report by Box Office India, the Hindi version of the film which is named ‘Raw’ has collected somewhere around 50 lakhs. The film is attempting to be a so-called pan India and is surely making the right waves. But with the release of KGF 2, there is little hope. The collections of the film are moderately good, but with the release of KGF 2, it remains to be seen if ‘Beast’ can do any better.

‘Beast’ starring Thalapathy Vijay is one of the biggest stars in Tamil Nadu. His other films have also put up huge opening numbers, hence the record opening was probably expected.

The film needs around 100 crore worth of sales from Tamil Nadu. We are yet to see how it fares over the next few days. There are very few Tamil films that have reached 100 crore net in Tamil Nadu.
