Directed by Leena Yadav, ‘Parched’ was showcased at the Toronto Festival in 2015 and was released in India in 2016. Speaking about the nude scene, Radhika had previously stated that it was not easy but rather intimidating but she could later bare it all and was proud of her body shape and size. Adil Hussain, who essayed the role of Radhika’s lover in the scene, had told ETimes in an interview, “I was almost naked in that scene. I have no issues with such scenes as long as they have not been done to tickle one’s lower senses. I have no issues with such scenes as long as they are meant to portray the complexities of human life. We as actors don’t shy away from playing brutal murderers, so why should we shy away from enacting a lovemaking scene? What’s the logic behind shying away? Aren’t we a land of1.3 billion people? And isn’t this the land where Kamasutra originated?” Produced by Ajay Devgn, ‘Parched’ narrated the story of three women who are victims of child marriage, physical abuse and alcoholic husbands.
On the work front, Radhika Apte’s next movie is Vasan Bala directed ‘Monica, O My Darling’, co-starring Rajkumar Rao.
