‘Bell Bottom’: Fans thank Akshay Kumar for bringing cinema halls back to life as they go out to make it a blockbuster – Times of India


After much ado, Akshay Kumar starrer ‘Bell Bottom’ has finally hit the theatres amid the pandemic in India, except in Maharashtra where cinema halls are still not functional. Fans on social media have been all praise for the actor for reviving the theatres.

While fans across the nation have been rejoicing, the ones in his home state are sad that they won’t be able to experience the Akki magic on the silver screen just yet. However, trust social media to turn all kinds of disappointment into humour. Many on Twitter have been making memes depicting the plight of Akshay’s fans in Maharashtra.

‘Bell Bottom’ also stars Vaani Kapoor, Lara Dutta and Huma Qureshi in lead roles. The movie has also been released in 3D.

Talking about shooting amid the pandemic, Vaani had told Zoom Digital in an interview, “It was all well planned, and for that one has to credit the producers and Akshay Kumar that one sails through without getting sick and we all come back in good health.”

Meanwhile, on the work front, Akshay has a line-up of some interesting films in his pipeline which includes ‘Raksha Bandhan’, ‘Bachchan Pandey’, ‘Ram Setu’, ‘ Atrangi Re’ and others.

The actor is also awaiting the release of Rohit Shetty’s ‘Sooryavanshi’ which also stars Katrina Kaif in the lead role. It also features Ajay Devgn as Singham and Ranveer Singh as Simmba in special cameos. The movie was supposed to hit the theatres in March last year. However, it was pushed ahead indefinitely owing to the ongoing pandemic and the resulting lockdown. The makers are yet to announce an official release date.
