Megan Thee Stallion set to release remix of BTS’ ‘Butter’ this Friday after court gives her green signal – Times of India

Grammy-Award winning rapper Megan Thee Stallion has been given the green signal to release her remix of BTS‘ ‘Butter‘.

According to legal documents obtained by Variety, a judge ruled that the star is clear to release the track the remix on which she is featured after she alleged that her record label is preventing the song’s release.

According to legal documents, Stallion submitted a petition against her record label 1501 Certified Entertainment and its CEO Carl Crawford, alleging that they are preventing her from releasing the song. The singer sought “emergency relief from the Court before this Friday, August 27, 2021, to allow her new music to be released this week as previously scheduled.”

Stallion also argued that obstructing the release of the song will cause “irreparable damage” to her career.

With the court ruling in the singer’s favour, reports state that the remix will be out this Friday.

This isn’t the first time Stallion has had a legal disagreement with 1501 — she sued the label last year for allegedly preventing her from releasing her EP ‘Suga’.

Meanwhile, her remix will come just days after fellow American group, Pentatonix released their ‘Butter X Dynamite’ mash-up cover. The acapella group, known for their impressive covers of hit songs, released the track and music video that has since won praise from ARMY.
