We hear, Fatima has run into a problem with the dates that her upcoming project, the Hindi remake of the Tamil hit ‘Aruvi’, requires. This, in turn, might see her opting out from the film and consequently the makers (E Niwas, Applause Entertainment, Vicky Rajani) hunting for a suitable replacement.
It so happens that this film was supposed to go on floors in August 2021 but has been delayed. Fatima had allocated dates for the month of August, and seemingly, those got wasted. Currently, the film’s team is trying to work out the dates with her to the best. A source close to the development tells us that the shoot was recently scheduled for November 20 and that is the point, when Fatima sort of threw up her arms.
The source further tells us that Fatima had even started preparing for the role and had been a part of quite a few readings as well, but now it is only a remote possibility that she goes back on board firmly.
FYI, not too long ago, E Niwas and Fatima were both very excited about this project.
E Niwas had said in a statement, “Aruvi is not just a story of a hero. It’s a triumph over the labyrinths of life. It’s totally euphoric and a privilege to explore one of the most beautiful cinematic characters I have come across. Fatima Sana Shaikh is an absolutely befitting choice, and I am super excited to collaborate with Applause Entertainment and Faith Films.”
Fatima had said, “I am so thrilled to do the remake of ‘Aruvi’ and really looking forward to dive deep into the skin of the character. I am really glad that Applause Entertainment and Faith Films have come together with E Niwas to make this great content and I am really excited to embark on this journey.”
But then, sometimes, rather many times, things don’t go in your life the way you want.
For those who’ve come in late, Fatima has been signed to reprise the fiery role that Aditi Balan did in the original.
