Anushka Sharma’s production house strikes USD 54 million deal with Amazon and Netflix: Report – Times of India


Over the years, the Indian entertainment industry has expanded its horizon with the digital space with renowned streaming giants making great progress in terms of content. Having said that, the buzz is that big platforms like Netflix and Amazon are shaking hands with Anushka Sharma and brother Karnesh Ssharma‘s production house.

According to a report in Bloomberg, Amazon Prime Video, Netflix are investing a huge amount of money in the siblings’ production house Clean Slate Filmz. The production house and the streaming giants have struck a deal worth $54 million which roughly translates to 4 billion rupees.

The report also stated that the deal has been to bring out multiple films and web series over a period of next few years. Karnesh also confirmed the development saying Clean Slate Films will release eight films and series on these streaming platforms as well as some others in the next 18 months to Bloomberg.

Karnesh also feels that the increasing competition between OTT giants has resulted in experimenting more in terms of content and creativity, and thus there has been a rise in budgets.

On the other hand, a Netflix spokesperson also confirmed that they have tied up with the actress’ production house, and will be releasing three projects in the coming months. One of them is Anushka’s Chakda X’press in which the actress is essaying the life of India’s celebrated cricketer Jhulan Goswami.
