How Sanjay Dutt became a part of Binoy Gandhi’s Ghudchadi – Times of India

The shooting of debutant director Binoy Gandhi’s Ghudchadi is underway in Delhi. The ‘shaadi’ comedy features Sanjay Dutt, Raveena Tandon, Aruna Irani, Khushalii Kumar and Parth Samthan and is expected to have a short schedule in Jaipur, too, before wrapping up by mid-March.

Sanjay Dutt, who recently announced his fresh run as a producer, has been in reinvention mode as an actor, too. The family entertainer is his first comedy after three action-dramas, shot over the last three years. Filmmaker JP Dutta’s daughter Nidhi Dutta, who had previously produced Paltan under her father’s banner, is backing this film as a co-producer with her husband.

Talking about how Binoy and she brought Sanjay aboard their project, Nidhi, who has grown up seeing Sanjay as a father figure, says, “We have a bond since I was a baby. He’s Sanjay Chachu for my sister Siddhi and me. I have looked up to him as my family all my life. For me, Sanjay Dutt is not the superstar the world sees. He is a father figure who has always been the coolest one to turn to. He is one of the kindest stars I have known personally. The fact that he has no airs about who he is makes him even more special. Right from the first meeting for the project, until now when he has started shooting with us, he has been a pillar of strength for Binoy and me. He is someone I could always turn to for support and advice. He’s made this film more his own than mine…And for that, I feel blessed. The way he has stood by me through the making and mounting of Ghudchadi is unbelievable. I am so grateful and excited for the shoot. I pray that this is the first of our many many films together.”
