‘Beast’ box office collection day 2: Vijay’s action avatar becomes second-fastest Tamil film to reach 100 crores – Times of India


Vijay has become the most powerful actor in Tamil cinema with back-to-back box office hits, and the actor’s ‘Beast‘ was released on April 13th ahead of Tamil New Year. Now, the latest report on the ‘Beast’ box office collection is that Vijay’s action avatar becomes the second-fastest Tamil film to reach 100 crores. ‘Beast’ has got a tremendous opening amidst the working day release, and already became the top-grossing film on day 1 in Tamil Nadu to collect Rs 38 to 40 crores. Also, the film reportedly grossed over Rs 80 crores on the day 1 WW, and it didn’t take more time for the film to cross the 100 crore mark. Vijay’s action avatar has reportedly grossed over Rs 130 crores at the end of day 2 to become the second-fastest Tamil film to achieve the grand feat after Rajinikanth’s ‘2.O’.

Meanwhile, fans have begun their social media celebrations by trending the hashtag blockbuster #AllTimeBlockbusterBeast. Despite the mixed reviews and the ‘KGF: Chapter 2’ release, ‘Beast’ is grabbing the attention of fans, and the film is getting filled fast for the weekend. The wide release for ‘Beast’ has made the film achieve a grand success, and the film is also expected to surpass 200 crores in a record time.

‘Beast’, which is directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, has Vijay essaying the role of a RAW agent, and the film has Pooja Hegde, Selvaraghavan, VTV Ganesh, Yogi Babu, Aparna Das, and Shine Tom Chacko among others. Anirudh Ravichander has scored the music, and his music stands as the best in the film.
