‘Dhaakad’ director Razneesh Ghai reveals they got action directors from US and Korea for the Kangana Ranaut starrer – Times of India

Kangana Ranaut is all set to pack a punch in her upcoming spy-thriller, ‘Dhaakad’. Filmmaker Razneesh Ghai recently revealed that he roped in action directors from across the globe.

According to the director, he wanted to deviate from the tried and tested stunts and adopt a new style. The filmmaker also added that the film was like a passion project for all of them and they wanted to make it bigger at every stage.

Elaborating further, Razneesh said they roped in action directors from the US, Korea, Canada and South Africa for some key sequences in the film. They also brought on board Hitz international action specialists, as well as famous stunt artistes Cameron Hilts and Sea-young Oh. The Indian stunt team was on par with our international collaborators, Ghai told a news portal.

‘Dhaakad’ is reportedly about Kangana’s character fighting against child trafficking and female exploitation. Spilling some beans about the film, the director added that the action is the movie’s centre-piece. According to him, a pitfall of action movies is that stunts begin to look repetitive. So they have worked towards avoiding that by roping in stunt choreographers from different parts of the world. He also added that they got Japanese cinematographer Tetsuo Nagata to ensure that the film’s visual palette is distinct.

Apart from Kangana, the movie also stars Arjun Rampal and Divya Dutta in key roles.
