Neliima Azeem reveals sons Shahid Kapoor, Ishaan Khatter faced challenges in childhood; Says they could have turned ‘losers’ after her failed marriages – Times of India

Shahid Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter‘s mother and veteran actress Neliima Azeem is often seen sharing her thoughts on their body of work and performance. This time, she has talked about the difficulties she faced while raising both her kids as a single mother.

In an interview, Neliima also opened up about her failed marriages. She was earlier married to Pankaj Kapur. They got separated when Shahid was young. Similarly, Ishaan was very young when Neliima and Rajesh Khatter decided to part ways.

While speaking to India Today, Neliima spoke about how her failed marriages affected her sons. She shared that Shahid and Ishaan did go through those ups and downs and even breakdowns. She further said that she took charge back then. Neliima also revealed that she was the one who was earning.

Recalling her struggling days, the actress also said that she used to do long hours on the sets because she was the bread earner. Neliima said that her children shone through it all and for that, she gives them an extra badge, because they could have gone the other way also, they could have been losers also because of it. She added that Shahid and Ishaan have grown to be wonderful people, they are good human beings.

Neliima has worked in a lot of TV shows. She has featured in films like ‘Sadak‘ and ‘Sooryavansham’. She also worked with Shahid in ‘Ishk Vishk’.
