Zareen Khan: On Eid our whole khandaan comes together to celebrate – Times of India

The festival of Eid Ul-Fitr is coming up and Zareen Khan is awaiting the big day. Most people have made plans to meet extended family members the Bollywood actress shares how that is an intrinsic part of Eid at her home. She says, “What I look forward to every Eid is the whole khandaan coming together and celebrating. With our busy lives it becomes difficult to catch up with friends and family otherwise, but we make sure that on Eid everyone comes together and celebrates.” She also recalls the times spent in childhood that make for loveliest Eid memories for her. She adds, “My fave childhood memory of Eid is getting Eidi and competing with all the cousins as to who got the highest Eidi. Those were special times.”

‘I prefer sheer khurma over everything else’

Wondering what is on the menu tomorrow? Guess what? The traditional biryani may not be what she will have. “I’m not a fan of biryani, my favourite foods at Eid are kebabs and mutton or chicken korma with naan. And if sheer khurma is considered food then of course, I prefer that over everything else,” she says, adding light-heartedly, “I don’t know to cook, I only know to eat!”

We are sure that the bonhomie that will come about after meeting her loved ones will lift Zareen’s mood as it has been a tough time of late for her, with her mother admitted to the ICU. “It’s been hard. I request everyone to send a prayer for my mother who’s very unwell,” she adds.
